Some of you know that I’m not a huge fan of Amy. I like her for the most part but I don’t think every performance is “omg Damy!!!” like her hardcore fans believe (i.e American Hustle, Big Eyes, Nocturnal Animals) but The Master, while I didn’t love the film, was where she showed her most powerful as an actress. How she controlled her husband’s actions behind the scenes all with just a look, a gesture, a calculated smile, her soft tone that went dark very quickly. She would’ve been a way better winner than Anne Hathaway. All of them would. Joaquin destroyed Daniel Day Lewis in that performance.

Hi, yeah, where is Arrival in the poll?

Only her Oscar-nominated roles, à la the Glenn Close poll.

The entire cast of The Master were phenomenal. Seymour Hoffman, Phoenix, Adams….how that film didn’t clean up through awards season is still shocking.

Funnily enough for roles she wasn’t nominated for like Big Eyes & Arrival.

The Master. But I don’t think she should have won an Oscar for it. Just like Jessica Chastain, I don’t always feel Adams presence in most of her movies. She was supposed to be lead in Arrival but I didn’t feel her that much plus the movie was so so boring. I think she was appropriately snubbed for that but she should have been nominated for Nocturnal Animals even though her costars outshined her there (they didn’t out perform her).

Now in the upcoming Vice, it looks like she’d be riding behind Christian Bale. Adams need to be in a movie without other big name actors in other to be felt that much. She needs to own the screen.

The master (Philip and Phoenix took her shine, Adams missed most of the precursors)

Doubt (Streep and Davis were there)

Julie and Julia (Streep didn’t give her space to breath)

American Hustle (her costars especially Lawrence silenced her)

Arrival (she was lead but missed most of the scenes, the aliens had more visibility)

Nocturnal Animals (Shanon and Johnson were singled out)

    The Fighter (Leo anyone?)

Vice…. (Bale is already in front, if not that she’s considered overdue by many, Adams wouldn’t have been in the conversation)

FYC Emily Blunt (Mary Poppins Returns) and Lady Gaga (A Star is Born) for best actress

The Fighter is the lone occasion on which I’ve truly adored her.

Giselle forever in my heart ❤

Her best performances for me stay Junebug and Enchanted. Both should be golden dildo winning ones.

    ALWAYS IS RIGHT!

Her very best performance is in Enchanted, which is quite underappreciated, but that’s followed closely by American Hustle and then Arrival and The Fighter.
